Vertices is a simple game, where you have 20 seconds to click on the shapes with the fewest vertices, or sides.

Can you clear 10 shapes before the time runs out? What about 20?! More?!?!

This game was made for the TeenyTiny DragonRuby MiniGameJam 2020, as my first foray into minigames.

All coding and shoddy shapes are my fault.

Note: If you play the web version of this game, the game window will be slightly squished unless your browser window is in a 1280x720 aspect ratio. For best results, maximise your browser : I've just pushed a fresh build with version 1.27 of DragonRuby and I'm happy to say this issue no longer exists!

The music and visuals were good, and so of course was the gameplay.I found myself surprisingly motivated to keep trying to see how far I could get (made it through 30 shapes before failing.)

One minor complaint, though: there were quite a few times where I clicked a shape right as another shape with fewer vertices appeared, and the previous one didn't count anymore.I wonder if it would be better to allow for a momentary buffer wherein the previous shape is still valid for cases like these. Granted, that may just be me wishing for an easier time.

Either way, good stuff

A great twist on the find the shape game - I loved that they were moving around and overlapping each other. The music and pixel affects really add to the fun.

The music was pretty groovy.

the mechanics were really interesting and well thought out and the art and music are really good

I love how this game is rather kind to the player. It doesn't give me a game over even if I press the wrong shape or if I press the right shape yet overlapped with another one.
